A traveling puppeteer with only 1 puppet.
He barely earned anything in his job and was forced to be hungry until he met misuzu. Misuzu let him livee with her and her mother and eat at their house. but, her mother decided on 2 conditions:
1) he must sleep at the shed.
2) he must have a drink with her (huh?)

later on the mother also asks him to watch over her daughter and to stop her daughter's bad habit of saying "Gao" (an imitation of a dinosaur) when ever she is troubled.

Yukito travels the world in a quest to find the princess in the sky from the story his mother told him when he was young.
