Ryuka is considered the rival of Taro's family. She is loud, annoying, self-centered at times and convinced no man can resist her body. When she first appeared she was to be the wife of the head of the Hanaukyo Family, Taro, and unknowingly drop-kicked him across the estate and became distressed when she was shown Taro was the intended but still intended to go through with it so she could be the head of her family and competed with--of all people--Mariel for position as Taro's future wife. She played against her in one-million games and lost the first half but almost won the other half. Despite this, she is still determined to become Taro's wife; whether both of them like it or not.
Ryuka loves military-oriented things and is something of a machinegun freak! She reguraly fights with Ikyou and calls her a "techno geek".
