Cynthia is a genius and has been every since she was very young, but her parents used her to get money and a scientist assured her that if she studied enough her parents would come back to her. However, her parents abandoned her for a "normal" child and decided to pretend Cynthia had never existed. This caused Cynthia's personality to split into another girl known as Grace.
Not much about Cynthia other than her past is unknown because she never talks that much and is kind and sweet and talks to Grace in her mind.
Grace does all the talking for Cynthia whenever she's out and unlike her, is actually quite violent. She is also prone to blushing when her real feelings for her other half made known and of course her reaction is to kick whoever said it in the head! Normally Ikyou.

Cynthia is a child genius, but her gift turned out to be a curse that robbed her a childhood and family. Her ill fortune led to the manifestation of her alternate personality, Grace, who assumed the girl's genius side, so that Cynthia could live the life of an innocent child.
Both personalities aware the presence of each other's existance, and switch identity in sleep - thus after Cynthia sleeps, she'd wake up as Grace, and vice versa. It's also worth to note that Cynthia never speaks.
So, Grace the computer genius works as the head of Hanaukyo family's information department, Cynthia spends her time playing.
