Edward Elric is the Fullmetal Alchemist. He lost his left leg in an alchemical attempt to bring back his dead mother than lost his right arm bringing his brother Alphonse's soul back from the gate when Alphonse's whole body was taken from him during the transmutation. Now with Automail Limbs, Edward and his armor encased brother Al serch for the Philosopher's Stone which is said to amplify the posseser's alchemy powers.
Edward is very touchy about his height and goes berserk when someone even gives a hint about his height. He will often change words around to make an excuse to get mad.
Along his travels Edward learns much about the secrets of alchemy and helps many people along the way. He matures greatly throughout the tale and becomes very wise by the end of it all.

Edward Elric, the FullMetal Alchemist, is the main character. When Ed and his younger brother, Alphonse Elric, attempted to resurrect their deceased mother, Trisha Elric via human transmutation, Ed lost his left leg in the alchemic rebound and Al lost his entire body. Traumatized, Ed heroically attempted to save his dear younger brother by bravely sacrificing his own right arm in order to attach Al's soul to a nearby suit of armor. After obtaining automail prosthetics from their childhood friend mechanic, Winry Rockbell, Ed still has the ability to perform alchemy. Ed now leads them both on a journey to find the legendary Philosopher's Stone, a powerful, dangerous, and mysterious stone that may be able to restore their bodies.
Ed is a brave, clever, and hot alchemist, and he's sooo awesome.

Edward Elric is the youngest State Alchemist, achieving this at age 12. He, unlike most alchemists, does not need a transmutation circle to do alchemy. This first happened when helping the wife of a friend give birth and he accidentally heated the water. He also didn't use a transmutation circle while doing the State Alchemy test and made a large wreath of flowers.
He is referred to as the Fullmetal Alchemist by his automail leg and arm, which he lost while trying to ressurrect his dead mother and saving his younger brother, Alphonse.
Alphonse is often mistaken for the Fullmetal Alchemist, as his soul is encased in a large suit of armor. Ed is very quick to point out that they are wrong.
Ed is also very touchy about his height. Call him "shorty" and he will change the words around, making it very amusing.
Man: You mean that little shorty?
Ed: Who are you callin' so short that he can't be seen with a magnifying glass?!
Man: I didn't say that!
Ed's mother died when he was 11, and Ed blames his father, who ran off when he was still a baby, for his mother's death. He believes that his mother "faded away" while waiting for him to return. Ed then convinced Al to bring her back to life using the forbidden art of Human Transmutation, losing his leg. Al lost his entire body, and Ed gave up his left arm to attach Al's spirit/soul to a nearby suit of armor.

Edward Elric was about 11 when he and his brother tried to reive their mom with the forbidden taboo "Human Transmution". It didn't work though and Al lost his body and is now sealed in a suit of armor. Ed origenly lost his leg but gave up his right arm to put his brother in the armor. Edward has a huge ego and is constilly looking for the "Pholasaper's Stone" which he beleives can bring back his arm and leg and his brother's body. Ed also has a problem with the words: chibi, small, and short. Ed is called the dog of the miletary. Here is a exapel of a converstation betwin him and Winry Rockbell.
Ed: There is no way I'm drinking that milk!
Winry: Fine then you'll always be size of a bean!!!
Ed: A BEAN?!?!!?
Winry: YEAH A BEAN!!!!!
They're both shouting at each other.
Alphonse: Oh boy, come on kitty let leave them alone.
Cat: meow
hehehehehehe I thought the cat part was funny well i said my part....one more thing Edward Elric is a State Alchemist known as Full Metal which Al is contesly mistaken for. He is ultra cute also!!!!!
