In the second episode, we see Miharu trying to coax a cat out of a tree. Wonder if it's the same cat?

If you watched the almost all the episodes or at least up to the part she first appears. Then you will notice in hte first few episodes that there was a woman petting a cat and always saying something about wishin she could walk to school feeling happy like Junnichi and Nemu. Yoriko is the cat and she wants to fullfil her master's wish.
