Kiyo is a regular boy genius. He thinks that everyone else around him is inferior and that he's surrounded by a bunch of idiots. Kiyo often skips school because he feels it's pointless, and that he's already smarter than the entire class and teachers. His mother is always complaining and nagging him, but she does it out of love (and it usually results in them arguing). She wants him to become more social, make friends, and continue school.
Instead, he just stays home reading comic books and lying around lazily (for a boy genius he sure doesn't act like it or put it to good use). He also doesn't have any friends because the other students are jealous of his intelligence and think that he's arrogant, condescending, and a know it all. He is also kind of bullied/ picked on and ignored by the other students who think he's a jerk or a loser (basically the feeling is mutual. He doesn't go to school because they hate him and he them, and they think he's better of staying home because they actually do).
Luckily for this laid-back genius, things begin to change when Gash busts into his life... literally. Who is Gash, what's this read book with the strange writting, and why is lightening shooting out of his mouth? Also, why did his father send him this strange child, and why doesn't he remember who he is? I'd tell you, but I don't want to spoil anything ~_^. So begins the strange relationship between Kiyo, the self-important genius, and Gash the strange little puppet looking kid with powers.
