She is Su's older sister and addresses her as Kaolla when she is present. Amara (or Amalla) seems to have power over lightning with her flute and is often seen with her pet alligator Shiro strapped to her back. She is strict and somewhat well learned, mastering the Japanese tongue a bit better than Su.
In the Anime:
Whenever Amalla appears, it usually has to do with the fact that Su has changed to her adult form.
In the Manga:
Amalla isn't seen in the manga or mentioned by name, but Su has a plimp, or maybe rather airship, named Amara.

Amalla Su is the older sister of Kaolla (who she happens to address her younger sibling by) and has a bit of an accent with a foundation, though seems to think that everyone in Japan puts on a "tough" act, though in the beginning comes off as a hoodlum and is more or less always seen with her pet albino alligator Shiro strapped to her back and everytime she appears, it's always for the good of Su.
When she first appeared, she tried to seduce Keitaro into accepting her as his bride (phyicaly!!!) so Su wouldn't continue to shift her age from fourteen to twenty, but was interupted much to Keitaro's releif by Naru and Su.

Amara Su does not appear in the series Love Hina often, when she does she makes a huge impact on the episode. Amara is the older sister (oniisan) of Kaolla Su. Amara is quite an interesting character, whom only shows up when her sister is about to grow up. The reason for this being is because when Su is feeling nostalgic about her brother whom she is suppose to wed, she grows up. However, things become complicated and Amara must show up to clean up the mess.
In the episodes where she appears, she is accompanied by her pet crocodile. The crocodile is huge, fierce, and can swallow a man whole. Although, Amara shows up to clean things up with Su and their brother, who is it that Amara is really looking after?
