"Kitsune" is a mix of her real first and last name, Mitsune Kono. Kitsune, for some reason, cannot always keep her eyes completly open and this expression gives off a sly look. Kitsune has been friends with Naru since Jr. High and fosters the same crush on Narus' tutor Seta as Naru herself did. Always the "free-spirit", Kitsune is willing to manipulate or embarasss such people as Keitaro, Motoko, or Naru into getting a rise out of them for her own amusement. Although she seems selfish, Kitsune does have a good heart and keeps an eye one her younger friends such as Sarah, Shinobu and Su. Mitsune has been through the trials and tribulations of love herself, maybe more times than she would care to recount, and often tries to get Naru to admit her feelings for Keitaro, going so far as to hit on him herself. One aspect of her that is amusing her her Southern-sounding accent. To say Kitsune likes sake would be an understatement. She'd probably see if she could buy an ocean of it if she could hang on to her money. If Naru leads the girls on senseble ventures like trying to get enough money to pay rent, Kitsune leads them on side quests for her own amusement or the betterment of all if Naru proves reluctant to do so.
In the Maga;
She almost comes off as man-hungry, but prefers to make occasional advances towards Keitaro, whether the other girls are around or not! Kitsune is also more of a lush and seems to be an out-of-work freelance writer, most likely due to the fact she'd rather drink wine than actually do any work. She takes advantage of Su's genius to spy on Naru in one volume of the manga to watch her as she wrote in her diary and also enlists the amorous Motoko and Kanako on several occasions. During the Kanako Arc, she seems to enjoy teasing Naru, Motoko and Shinobou about loving Keitaro and later becomes in charge of the Hinata Tea House.
in the Anime:
She isn't as adulterous As she is in the manga and settles for picking on others and setting up small pranks or peeping. Kitsune also exhibits her lust for wealth a bit more in place of her past man-hungry ways.

In The Anime:
She is more commonly known to her friends as "Kitsune", which is not only a mixture of her first and last name, but also means "fox" in Japanese and fits her perfectly since she can't seem to help herself but cause trouble for others whenever she is bored and has even used the word "scandalous" when refering to Naru's interest in Keitaro and Mutsumi going out on a date together and got drenched for her efforts when Naru's jealousy got the better of her and caused her to chase Keitaro and Mutsumi in a boat chase.
Kitsune is Naru's best friend and knows she is in love with Keitaro and often tries to get her to admit it. Because she use to change boyfriends so often, Kentaro thought she was easy, but she told him that she didn't think it was worth being in love herself, before threatening to prick his throat for info on where Sarah was after she ran away and took her in as a surogate daughter while her old crush Seta was away.
She seems to be friends with Shirai and Hitani because they struck her as charming after being called a fox.
In The Manga:
Even though she is best friends with Naru, she has always resented the fact that no matter how many handsome boys wanted to date her, she had Kistune dump them all for her and doesn't seem to be too lucky in matters of love herself these days.
In the manga she refers to herself as "Big Sister" when Keitaro is feeling down and helps him try to find out what Naru thinks about him. Later she lets her old feelings get the best of her, dresses in her old middle school uniform and tickled Keitaro to make him accept her as his new girlfriend. Kitsune was impressed when he wouldn't, but told him if he couldn't land Naru, she was always more than willing to be with him. She also becomes a "bad guy" with Su in the second volume of the manga and becomes her captain in trapping Keitaro for her.

At the beginning of Love Hina, our first glimpse of Konno Mitsune (a.k.a. Kitsune) is when Keitaro's face meets her chest. At first glance, Kitsune seems to be an evil character like Naru. ^_^ However that is not so, she is a very nice character who lives a care-free life.
Kitsune is a very interesting character. She doesn't work hard at all and spends a lot of time drinking sake and loiter around the Hinatasou. We find out that Kitsune is Naru's best friend and that they went through school together.
Kitsune's best feature is her constant interest in Keitaro and Naru's relationship. Kitsune always finds a way to mettle in their relationship in any way, shape or form. It is only obvious that Kitsune awaits the time when Keitaro and Naru do get together, she spends quite a substantial amount of energy trying to keep their relationship going. However, through the midst of this good faith, what is really behind those mysterious eyes of Kitsune?
