Barnette is another member of the Nirvana's Dread squadron. Tough and hard-nosed, Barnette is a consummate warrior and someone who has a vested interest in many things, including cooking and antique guns. Barnette also maintains a close, romantic relationship with her fellow pilot, Jura, and will do anything to protect her. Barnette is more often than not a part of Jura's schemes to be the best and/or most famous.
Barnette has a tendancy to be impatient and impulsive, and so it is no surprise that she reacts to the men on the Nirvana with barely hidden distaste. However, she eventually must learn that in order to be victorius over the Harvest fleet she has to learn to work with everyone else to accomplish a common goal.

Something of a second-tier character, she is a dread pilot on the Nirvana. although she is not one of he women who recieve a powered-up dread, she does play a role in the story as Jura's lover and constant companion, and as a constant advocate for separtaion of men and women.

Barnette is yet another member of the Nirvana's Dread squadron. She seems very fond of Jura, emulating her in dress. She harbors an ill-concealed dislike of the male prisoners onboard the Nirvana, and is also known to be a bit reckless and impulsive. Still, she's a capable Dread pilot.
