Shuuji is in love with chise and he is the only one that knows she is a powerful weapon not even her own family knows. So he tells chise they have to fall in love because he was the only one that knows about it. Then one day they tried to run away together but the army found her. And then Shuuji cheats on chise with one of his old girlfriends. Then he relises that he only loves chise. But then chise told him they should just be classmates and nothing more. Then they relise that they love eachother and the run away to another city. There they acted like husband and wife. Then Shuuji found out that the only thing that is keeping Chise alive is these pills and she ran out of them. So he trys to kill her so she wont kill everyone but he couldnt so he sent her off to the army again. Then she told Shuuji to go back to where they first kissed. And he did and there was diarys waiting for him there and he sat there all day reading them and crying. while chise is watching him from the roof, then when it was dark and he was done reading chise came down to him and she didnt remember him till he hugged her and kissed her. Then chise told him she didnt want to remember him so she wont be hurt. Then they made love for the first time. After they were done they fell asleep. When they woke up she told Shuuji the the world was going to end but he told her that he wanted to live and so did everyone else. So she goes and trys to save everyone but she only saved Shuuji. And now Shuuji is the only one left in the world and he amagins that he is with chise and they chould stay together for ever.

Chise's boyfriend. Even though knowing that Chise is not human anymore because of her transforming into a weapon, he still loves her.

Shuuji is Chise's boyfriend. He is honest, understanding, and the ideal boyfriend to be with. Initially, Shuuji and Chise's relationship started because of a dare between Chise and her friends. Eventually, they started exchanging diaries, and as explained clearly in the show, fall in love with each other.
