Machi is a member of the Ryodan (The Spiders) who 4 years prior the beginning of Hunter x Hunter massacred the Kuruta tribe becoming Kurapica’s target of revenge. She is usually calm and collected, hardly ever losing her temper in anything. Machi has a way of knowing things (her intuition) and usually her intuition is accurate.
Machi is from the transformation nen group. Her ability involves threads, which have a number of uses, including being able to kill and capture her enemies. It is also seen that Machi is able to sew limbs back together as what she did with Hisoka. It is hinted that Hisoka has some sort of interest in Machi.

Frizzled hair and ice cool eyes.... a young female delinquent with a rebellish attitude at first glance. Machi is an expert in the art of deadly needlework. Her nen is shaped into thin wispy-long threads which she uses in a variety of ways-- in healing wounds, repairing back dislodged limbs like what she did for Hisoka, or like a hangman's noose that strangles enemies with a tug. A death angel that is able to grant the wish of life or death.
What's her relationship with Hisoka? Hisoka seems to have an occasional interest with her, although it's hard to see whether it's genuine, given Hisoka's unpredictability. Machi also doesn't appear to be interested a single bit, spurning his advances on all occasions.
Machi is one of the original and female Ryodan member. She first appears in the Celetial Tower episode where she comes to sew Hisoka's arm together. Machi is calm and cold personality, even when Hisoka hits (not literally) on her. But she is really annoyed by Hisoka, always partnering up with for searches. She also one of the members that are very close to Dancho (Kuroro) and follows his orders. Note that Machi is really pretty and cool looking!
Machi changes her aura into thread or wire. The stronger the resistance of the thread, the shorter her thread decreases. "With a length equal to the circumference of the Earth, I could give the resistance of a cotton thread, but in the rayo of one meter, it could bear a ton." If she releases the aura thread away from her body, the strength decreases greatly. This is because Gugenka users or Henka users have great difficulties projecting their auras. With her threads, she is able to sew Hisoka's arm together in a swift movement. She can also secretly surround or attach a target with her thread. When Kurapica and the other bodyguard captures Ubogin, Machi releases her thread to attach on Ubogin to follow them. When Kurapica and the others notice the Ryodan are following them, they used Gyo and where able to detect the aura thread on Ubogin. Machi aura also can pull unnotice target by the throat and hang them on a tree.

Monotonous, quiet speaking, yet strong in her instincts, Machi is one of the Spiders that Kurapica is after. She is a Nen user from Manipulation group. She turns her aura into thread. Shorter the thread is, stronger its strength is. Using this, she can sew things (even arms, she did it to Hisoka), trace something/one and control dead body as well.
