Takumi Fujiwara is an 18 year old guy living in the town adjacent to Mt.Akina, in the Gunma Prefecture of Japan. He goes to the local high school, has a part time job working at a gas station, and looks like any normal young guy. His expressionless face rarely shows any emotion, if at all.
That all changes when he gets behind the wheel of his father's car, a Toyota Trueno AE86(the Corolla in the US). Having mastered driving techniques most racers would kill for, Takumi also has a side job delivering tofu to a hotel at Mt.Akina's peak. Through this "job", Takumi's driving instincts have been honed to the highest caliber.
A chance encounter with the redsuns' Keisuke Takahashi plunges Takumi into the world of underground mountain road racing. A racing spirit slowly begins to awaken within him, along with a strong desire to explore his world beyond his city.
Only time will tell how far Takumi will go.

Takumi Fugiwara is 18 years old. He is 174 cm tall and weighs 58 kg. He is the son of Bunta Fujiwara, the owner of a tofu shop in his hometown Akina. He hardly shows any emotion on his face; one might say that he's a rather dull and boring person. He's best mates with Itsuki Takeuchi, who is a racing fan. Takumi works part-time at a gas station with Itsuki, along with Iketani, who is a member of the local racing team, the Akina Speed Stars.
